Vintage Rosette Wedding

 Vintage-inspired wedding cake with antique white fondant on all 3 tiers, gold beading trim, and hand-crafted pink petal rosettes.
100% edible design.
(scroll down for a rose- making tutorial)

         ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As you can see, I start with a dum-dum sucker.  I like how it already has a secure stick that can easily be inserted into the cake.  I cut out a series of oval and round shaped gum-paste petals thinly rolled out (careful, they dry out quickly).  After using the cut-outs, I again rolling the edges some more with a small rounded edge tool.  I think the thinner you can make the petals, the more realistic it appears.  Then, I wet my sucker.  Between the wet sticky sucker and the wet sticky gum paste, when they are placed together, it adheres really well and securely as it dries.  The center gets rolled tightly, and then each petal, getting larger in size is added to form a preferred shape of a rose--pinching and curling some edges to prevent uniformity.  Once the gum paste dries, as shown here, I brush on the tips a little petal dust to accent it with a pale pink.
One neat thing about these roses is that they keep forever--no withering. Though they are brittle, this keep-sake gum paste edible rose can be kept as long as you keep them in a cool, dry place (eating them after a month's time though is not advised).  There are many ways to create an edible rose.  All version make different looks, which I like them all.  This way, I believe, creates a more realistic look if that's the pursuit.
Ruffle/Ballet Sheet Cake
Your standard sheet cake doesn't have to be standard at all. This butter cream ruffle design can be any girl's favorite. Flowers and ballet slippers are edible, but they can also be a keepsake for decades (not advised to eat after a month's time). Colors and design can fit your interests.  This double stacked cake is a half sheet, which is the largest sheet-style cake I can accommodate.  It serves at least 80 portions.
Brony Cake
Brony fans know what this cake is about!
A boy turning 14 years wanted the character Vinyl Scratch and an interesting expression written on his cake.  The 6" round cake is covered in butter cream with a vinyl-looking sugar sheet placed on top.  The character is a hand-crafted butter cream transfer.
Cinco De Mayo Exploding Cake
etaphorically exploding cake can be adjusted to any theme.  Other than the rods and ribbon to hold the sign up, this design is completely edible.  It has orange tinted butter cream to mimic southwestern style stucco and sugar sheets for the party theme designs found on the sides of the cake, confetti on top, and the flags.  The 3D additions, such as the chilis and sombrero are created with fondant.
Ladybugs in Grass Cake
This cake was made for baby shower, though it can be for any ladybug themed event.  Fondant is used to cover and decorate with.  This much fondant can still be yummy.
The only instruction I was given was to follow a ladybug theme, two-tiers and serving amount, and to create a shock-factor cake.  That's a tall order :).  I enjoy being given liberties as well as picture of other cakes to follow exactly--as long as you get the product you want, we're both happy.
Lace Flowers Heart Cake
 Fondant covered double stacked heart-shape cake with an elegant lace flower design made with royal icing cascading down the side.
Notice the cake itself can be played up -- flavor or colors.  This cake was for a birthday party a day before Valentines, so we did a neapolitan cake and ice cream (mostly because the little girl couldn't decide between chocolate and vanilla).
Pupcake
 This is a large individual size cake to look like a puppy.  The lil' pooch is made with buttercream.
